Our Standards
Advocate Care Services takes the role of the in-home caregiving seriously. Families have entrusted the care of their loved one to us and it is our responsibility to ensure that the care is provided by responsible, dedicated caregivers.
Our Screening Process
As a first step, all of our caregivers are personally interviewed by a member of our administrative team. Following the interview process, working references are checked for a history of quality care. A nationwide criminal background check is also conducted. If the caregiver will be driving a client, a Motor Vehicle Record is obtained through the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Our Education Process
All caregivers receive an orientation to our philosophy and standards of care. This orientation involves learning about the history and mission of Advocate Care Services and the policies and procedures of our agency. This allows us to assess the caregiver’s knowledge of in-home care as well as their communication skills and the ability to interact well with others.
Each caregiver must participate in our continuing education process. This includes online training, self-study packets, workshops on in-home care as well as individual training for the unique needs of the client receiving care.
Our Evaluation Process
All caregivers are supervised by our clients and care coordinator. They work as a team to ensure the caregiver understands the clients’ needs and provides quality care. They also evaluate the caregiver’s performance on an on-going basis.
Our Safety Policy
All of our caregivers are expected to follow ACS policies regarding client care and safety.
